Mindful Talk provides psychiatric medication management and therapy services through licensed healthcare professionals. Our services include:

- Medication management and monitoring

- Treatment planning and follow-up care
- Crisis intervention and support
Patient Responsibilities
As a patient, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete medical and personal information
- Follow treatment recommendations and take medications as prescribed
- Attend scheduled appointments or provide adequate notice for cancellations
- Pay for services according to our payment policies
- Treat staff and other patients with respect and courtesy
- Notify us promptly of any changes in your condition or circumstances
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols during treatment
Appointment and Cancellation Policy
Scheduling
Appointments can be scheduled through our website, by phone, or through our patient portal. We will confirm all appointments and provide necessary instructions.
Cancellation and No-Show Policy
- Please provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations
- Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may result in a fee
- No-show appointments may be charged the full session fee
- Repeated missed appointments may result in discharge from our practice
Payment and Insurance
We accept various insurance plans and payment methods. Payment terms include:
- Co-payments and deductibles are due at the time of service
- We will bill your insurance company for covered services
- You are responsible for any non-covered services or charges
- Payment plans may be available for qualifying patients
- Outstanding balances may be sent to collections after 90 days
Confidentiality and Privacy
We maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and state laws. However, confidentiality may be limited in certain circumstances:
- When you pose a danger to yourself or others
- When required by law or court order
- In cases of suspected child or elder abuse
- For emergency medical treatment
- When you provide written authorization for disclosure
Emergency Situations
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency:

- Go to your nearest emergency room

- Contact your local crisis intervention team
Our practice does not provide 24/7 emergency services. For urgent but non-emergency situations, please contact our office at (202) 681-4492 during business hours.
Medication Management
For medication management services:
- Follow all medication instructions carefully
- Report any side effects or concerns promptly
- Do not share medications with others
- Keep all follow-up appointments for medication monitoring
- Notify us of any other medications or supplements you are taking
- Prescription refills require advance notice and may require appointments
Limitation of Liability
While we strive to provide the highest quality care, we cannot guarantee specific treatment outcomes. Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law. We are not responsible for treatment decisions made by other healthcare providers or for actions taken by patients outside of our direct care.
Termination of Services
We reserve the right to terminate services in the following circumstances:
- Non-compliance with treatment recommendations
- Failure to pay for services
- Disruptive or threatening behavior
- Violation of practice policies
- When we determine we cannot provide appropriate care
In cases of termination, we will provide appropriate notice and assist with transition of care when clinically appropriate.
